The November meeting of the Woodworkers Association of Arkansas will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the UALR Furniture Design Studios. The program will be a presentation and demonstration by Little Rock professional photographer Mark Mathews on how to photograph and display your woodworking project.
The October, 2009 Meeting of the Woodworkers Association of Arkansas will be a special hamburger / hotdog cookout, with members and companions bringing chips ‘n’dip, snacks and goodies by potluck. You need to let Moe know you’re coming or you might go hungry.
6:30 PM, Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the UALR Furniture Design Studios. Burgers, drinks, condiments and supplies provided by WAA. The program will consist of show ‘n tell.
The August, 2009 Newsletter is now on the Website. This Newsletter also announces the September, 2009 WAA meeting. Note that the September meeting will not be a “Tuesday Evening” meeting, but will be a Seminar and Demonstration on Making and Using Traditional Wood Hand Planes, to be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There will not be a WAA meeting on Tuesday evening, September 1, 2009.
The October meeting of the Woodworkers Association of Arkansas will be on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the UALR Furniture Design studios, at Asher Ave. and University Ave. in Little Rock. See the September, 2008 Newsletter for the program and details.
Member Lewis Neidhardt will be demonstrating the art of making cutting boards during our May 5th meeting. He will be showing the steps used in making higher end cutting boards that he sells regularly. He will explain how the parts are cut, the gluing process, and how to get the end product plained flat. The program for April 7th, 2008 will be on segmented bowl turning by Chris Scott. He will demonstrate the procedures for making a segmented bowl.
